Survived Hope (d. 1991) and step-daughter Jill (d. 2011). Living at age 98 in 2026 per Brant Hindman. Brant Hindman's step-grandfather on the maternal side. Son of Charles Albert Deister (1904-1993) and Anna L. (Duggan) Deister (~1903-2002), both Catholic Decatur residents (St. Thomas the Apostle parish). Brother of Thomas Harold Deister (1930-2009).
